Another wreck clean up - Mounts Bay - Penzance
Yesterday our team comprising volunteers from Fathoms Free and Sea Shepherd UK - Ghostnet Campaign were once again busy recovering ghost gear from Mounts Bay, Penzance, Cornwall. This time they were clearing ghost gear from the wreckage of the SS Alice Marie.
The team of divers removed a significant amount of trawl net, monofilament net, ropes and monofilament fishing line from the wreckage. Despite filling a dumpy builders bag with ghost gear, the team will return in a couple of weeks for a final sweep before moving onto the next wreck in the bay which has been reported to us.

I was really inspired reading about how the Fathoms Free team recovered ghost nets from the SS Alice Marie wreck - it makes me want to start planning my own volunteer dive schedule.
