Stingrays revival has been completed and she's ready for service.

Stingray's Revival is completed!

She's ready for action, and all the recent sea trials have been a great success. Tomorrow, we kick off our support for Cornwall Wildlife Trust Seasearch Cornwall surveys.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported the project. Every donation counted and contributed to this very special RIB.

Lastly, but by no means least, a very special thanks to one of our trustees Jules, who has dedicated every spare minute he's had this winter to working on the boat. He's done the bulk of the work, and without his efforts and tenacity, the project wouldn't have succeeded.

We’re looking forward to continuing to make a difference in 2025!

Fathoms Free is a group of volunteer divers who protect marine wildlife and the environment for everyone's benefit by removing ALDFG (abandoned, lost, or otherwise discarded fishing gear) and other marine debris from the coastal waters of Cornwall and Devon.

ALDFG is also known as ghost gear or ghost fishing gear, as it continues to "fish," entangling, trapping, and killing wildlife indiscriminately. These trapped animals will die and act as bait, attracting more wildlife in a vicious cycle of death until the ghost gear is removed from the environment.
